FAQ
6.5" MTC Screen Replacement Tablet
I need help choosing between the tablet and keeping the OEM screen
Since the tablet controls all features and functions the same way as the original screen, it comes down to whether you're excited about having a larger HD screen with the capability to install modern apps.
However, if you're a creature of habit we can fix your screen so that it will last for years to come. We have the best refurbishing parts and process available.
Does the tablet have its own charger?
Yes, the tablet has an integrated charger so it is being charged whenever your dash power is on.
Does the tablet need to be turned off?
It is recommended to turn off the tablet when storing your boat. If you forget and the tablet battery is dead when you return, no problem; just turn on your dash power and it will have enough juice to power up within one minute.
Can I still use the pre-sets on my 10-button Maliview display?
Yes! Presets including ballast %, power wedge position, and cruise control will work normally. If a pre-set is filling or draining the ballast, it can be interrupted by pressing the corresponding button on the tablet.
I might install tabs or gates later. Will the tablet control them?
Yes! You will need an auxiliary control module that we can supply. When you order your surf system get in touch and we'll hook you up.
Is Apple Car Play or Android Auto supported?
Apple Car Play and Android Auto are not pre-installed, however they can be separately installed and we have successfully tested them.
Do I need to charge the tablet over the off season?
No, when the tablet is turned off with a full charge, it will retain most of its charge throughout the off season.
Why is my power wedge going down but not up?
Malibu has a programmed safety lockout to prevent injury caused by the upward moving wedge. The boat must be moving forward at above 3 mph to move the wedge up. However, when fully stowing your wedge, your speed should be under 10 mph to avoid blowing a fuse due to moving the wedge under high speed & drag resistance.
My Malibu is doing something weird. Can you help?
We can try! While developing the tablet on our 2013 Wakesetter, we learned a few things about these boats. Plus we have lots of dealer & mechanic contacts and we're active on many Malibu forums.
