OEM replacement
- MTC Screen / Medallion Viper touch screen: $3,400+
- Available through malibu dealers and online parts retailers
- Replacement OEM touch screens may not be improved and could be prone to recurring failure
- Regains original functionality but does not upgrade the screen to enable use of modern apps
- Requires multi-hour time investment to learn and properly execute the repair
- Requires delicately removing plastic trim for re-use, heating and separating glass, messy glue contact, removing / re-inserting delicate ribbon cables, possible glass breakage, and in-boat testing prior to final re-assembly
- Only addresses the glass digitizer / LCD delamination failure, and not the additional possible failure points: backlight inverter and motherboard / CPU
- A future failure of other components requires a repeat repair of the digitizer / LCD
